Thanksgiving Service in Kelley Chapel

An nondenominational Thanksgiving Service at historic Kelley Chapel, located at the entrance to our Nature Trails, open to all. Sing hymns and hear an inspirational message from Mary Hansen-Joyce, with warmth provided by the woodstove.


A free, family friendly event. Visit the museums, inns and businesses along Old Kings Highway as they welcome you with holiday decorations, tasty treats and music of the season. Have your photo taken with Santa at the Captain Bangs Hallet House. Roast marshmallows and warm up by the fire at the Turtle Shade Arbor.

January 11: Anne-Marie Runfola [Lecture topic to be announced]

February 8: “Sailing to Freedom: Maritime Dimensions of the Underground

Railroad” - Professor Timothy D. Walker

Professor Walker will discuss the largely forgotten importance of maritime routes for enslaved people from the South to escape their servitude. He was the editor of, and acontributor to, a recent book with the same title as his talk.

March 1: “Jim Coogan: Cape Cod Story-Teller”

A well-known local publisher, author, and retired history teacher, Jim Coogan is an engaging raconteur with an expansive stockpile of stories about the Cape and its history that he has been collecting for many years.

March 31: “Rebels at Sea: Privateering in the America Revolution” - Eric Jay Dolin

Eric Jay Dolin is the award-winning best-selling author of fifteen books, including one with the same title as his talk. He will discuss the critical role of “the ragtag fleet of private vessels” that “tormented the British on the broad Atlantic and in bays and harbors on both sides of the ocean” in determining the outcome of the American Revolution.
