WE’RE ALL VOLUNTEERS HERE, DOING WHAT WE LOVE.

As one of the most active historical societies on the Cape, we are indebted to our volunteers who make everything go smoothly.

Below are some of the Volunteer Opportunities at HSOY. Use the form at the bottom of the page or contact us directly to indicate what you’d like to learn more about. If you have a special area of expertise, please tell us.

Museum Docents

Our docents at the Captain Bangs Hallet House Museum lead visitors on a tour of our unique sea captain's home, circa 1840. Training and mentorship is provided.

MEMBERShip

The Membership Team welcomes new members to the society and maintains our membership database.

NATURE Trails

Our much loved Nature Trails cover over 50 acres of Cape woodland. Volunteers help maintain the trails by pruning, removing obstructions and work on signage.

Kelley Chapel

The quaint Kelley Chapel is used for programs and events year-round. Volunteers keep the historic chapel in excellent shape for its busy schedule and provide day-of assistance at events.

Tour Guide/Interpreter

Become a costumed historical interpreter in one of our educational programs or lead outdoor tours of historic areas in Yarmouth and along our trails.
